Hong Kong Housing Society's Hollywood Terrace residential redevelopment proved so popular with the public that all 550 flats in the development were sold on the first day they were offered for sale.

The development comprises two 35-storey residential towers that rise from a six level podium that houses a car park, clubhouse, shopping centre and various community facilities.

Situated on a geotechnically problematic slope, the development posed our site team a series of exciting engineering challenges, including demolition of the structure that previously occupied the site and extensive ground stabilisation work; all to be undertaken with minimal impact on the surrounding heavily built-up area.

We overcame these challenges so successfully that we received an award in the HKSAR Work Bureau's 1998 Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme.
