Hysan appointed Gammon as Main Contractor for the Lee Garden Three Project

Two of Hong Kong’s most prominent names in the real property industry will join force again in the heart of Causeway Bay’s latest commercial project.


Lee Garden Three, to be constructed on the former site of Sunning Plaza and Sunning Court, is owned and developed by Hysan Development Company Limited (Hysan), a leading property development, investment and management company, with strong roots in Hong Kong’s renowned retail and office district stretching back to the 1920s. Hysan has awarded the building contract of Lee Garden Three, worth HK$1.6 billion, to Gammon Engineering & Construction Company Limited, a subsidiary of Gammon Construction Limited - one of Hong Kong’s and Asia’s best known engineering and construction companies.


Lee Garden Three will be a part of Hysan’s cluster of commercial buildings in Causeway Bay, fronting the busy but verdant Hysan Avenue. The project will include 20 floors of spacious Grade A offices sitting atop a five-level retail podium of shops and an exhilarating range of food and beverage establishments. There will also be a five-level basement, with around 200 parking spaces welcoming shoppers and office users from all over the city to Lee Gardens. The building of the basement started in February 2016, and the entire project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2017.


The project will be Hysan and Gammon’s second major partnership in recent years. The iconic and popular Hysan Place was an earlier Hysan-developed commercial complex which was constructed by Gammon.

It will add even more value to our ownership cluster here at the Lee Gardens which magnifies our ability to extract synergies among our incredible tenant mix. Latest construction technologies such as Building Information Modelling, 4D modeling and 3D scanning will be adopted to enhance the project’s environmental friendliness and construction efficiency.
