Gammon wins Great Eagle Group residential development in Hong Kong
Gammon Construction Limited (“Gammon”) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a HK$ 3.4 billion (US$433 million) building contract by Great Eagle Group for the Ho Man Tin Station Package One Property Development.
Located atop MTR Ho Man Tin Station, the development consists of five residential towers, providing 990 new flats.
The project aims to achieve BEAM Plus Gold. Gammon will also be aspiring to its own sustainability targets through construction approaches incorporating precast façade, aluminium formwork, unitised curtain wall panels and modular platforms. The company’s co-developed mass battery storage system, the Enertainer, will also be adopted for power supply in lieu of diesel generators to reduce carbon emissions.
To facilitate the construction process, the project will implement self-developed digital solutions for project management, material delivery and installation, site inspections and quality control.
As the development is situated atop an operating railway station, safety will be paramount and works must be delivered to stringent standards, as well as with minimal disturbance to the public.
Mr Kevin O’Brien, Chief Executive of Gammon Construction, said, “We are delighted that Great Eagle Group has once again selected Gammon to work with it. Our skilled professionals will continue to seek every opportunity to implement both our own and industry innovations and technologies that ultimately result in an improved quality of product for our customers.”
Work commenced in May 2022 and completion is scheduled for 2024. 1,200 workers will be employed on the project during the peak period.
