Gammon Building Construction Limited has won two building contracts with a total value of HK$3.91 billion. They include a public rental housing development by Hong Kong Housing Authority at Tuen Mun and a R&D offices development at Hong Kong Science Park Phase 3c.

The HK$2.82 billion Housing Authority contract, which will provide about 4,600 public rental housing flats, mainly comprises five 33 to 38 storey non-standard domestic blocks to be constructed with some precast elements, a kindergarten, an estate management office, a day care centre for the elderly, a commercial centre, a refuse collection point with basement car parking. The Science Park development, which follows the award of the Park’s Phase 3a and 3b to Gammon earlier, covers the construction of two research and development offices and laboratory-enabled buildings both with a basement, and an exhibition hall. Other works include the external and landscaping work and a linkbridge to connect buildings. The project will meet the stringent Hong Kong Building Environmental Assessment Method (HKBEAM) Plus Platinum standard. Valued at HK$1.09 billion, the project is due to start in August 2014 and will be completed by the end of 2015.

Mr Thomas Ho, Chief Executive of Gammon said, “We take pride in the trust we have won from our clients and our project teams are committed to bringing our vision in safety, health, quality and environmental performance into reality. With our solid track record and support from our stakeholders, we will overcome any challenges and continue to excel. ”

The two projects together are expected to create about 1,700 jobs in Hong Kong.
