Gammon Building Construction Limited wins HK$3.91 billion contracts for Public Rental Housing Development of Tuen Mun and Hong Kong Science Park Phase 3c
Gammon Building Construction Limited has won two building contracts with a total value of HK$3.91 billion. They include a public rental housing development by Hong Kong Housing Authority at Tuen Mun and a R&D offices development at Hong Kong Science Park Phase 3c.
The HK$2.82 billion Housing Authority contract, which will provide about 4,600 public rental housing flats, mainly comprises five 33 to 38 storey non-standard domestic blocks to be constructed with some precast elements, a kindergarten, an estate management office, a day care centre for the elderly, a commercial centre, a refuse collection point with basement car parking. Other external works include elevated pedestrian walkways, noise barriers, landscaping and associated drainage works. This public rental housing project has commenced in June 2014 and will be completed in 2016 / 2017.
The Science Park development, which follows the award of the Park’s Phase 3a and 3b to Gammon earlier, covers the construction of two research and development offices and laboratory-enabled buildings both with a basement, and an exhibition hall. Other works include the external and landscaping work and a linkbridge to connect buildings. The project will meet the stringent Hong Kong Building Environmental Assessment Method (HKBEAM) Plus Platinum standard. Valued at HK$1.09 billion, the project is due to start in August 2014 and will be completed by the end of 2015.
