Gammon Wins Twelve Safety and Quality Awards in MTR Projects

Gammon Construction Limited ("Gammon") has won a total of 12 awards at the Quality, Safety and Environmental Awards Presentation Ceremony organised by the MTR Corporation.



These include the Gold Safety Award for the Kennedy Town Station & Overrun Tunnel project, and – two Gold Quality Awards respectively for Gammon-Nishimatsu West Island Line Joint Venture on Sai Ying Pun and Hong Kong University Stations and Gammon-Leighton Joint Venture for Express Rail Link in appreciation of the companies’ excellent performance with systems set up on quality management and control.



"These awards proved that we have been taking the right approach and we will continue to improve to achieve our Zero Harm target", said Brian Gowran, Project Director of the Kennedy Town Station project.



Other awards include the Best Site Condition Awards for 2 projects, the Lowest Reportable Accident Frequency Rate Award, the Highest DNV Audit Score and Silver Quality Award for Kennedy Town Station project, the 2nd Silver Safety Award for Sai Ying Pun and Hong Kong University Station project, and Gold of the Near Miss Report Award and Runner-up of the Contractor’s Supervisor Safety Award for 2 Gammon employees.



The MTR Corporation presents the Quality, Safety and Environmental Awards bi-annually to recognise the outstanding performance of its contractors and consultants working on the West Island Line and the Express Rail Link projects.
