Gammon Engineering & Construction Company Limited (“Gammon”), a subsidiary of Gammon Construction, has been awarded by Wheelock and Company Limited a building contract for its residential development project at Lohas Park Package 9, Tseung Kwan O. The contract value is about HK$4 billion.



The project includes the construction of three 54-56 storey high residential towers on a five-level podium, providing over one million sq.ft large scale residential development.

 

Thomas Ho, Chief Executive of Gammon said, “This is the fourth project that we work with Wheelock in Tseung Kwan O. We are particularly delighted that our technical competence and excellent quality have enabled us again to win this prestigious contract.”



To ensure the safe and efficient project delivery, Gammon will employ the most up-to-date technologies such as BIM and 3D scanning. In addition, the concept of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) will be introduced in course of the construction cycle to enhance productivity and safety performance in workplace. Aluminum handset panel instead of traditional formwork will be used for construction of tower structure.



The project is targeted to achieve the HK BEAM Plus Standards to reduce the environmental impact and improve the environmental quality and user satisfaction.



The project has commenced in March and is scheduled for completion in 2021.



At construction peak the project will create 1,500 jobs.
