Gammon Wins Fanling Proposed Residential Development Main Contract
Gammon has been awarded the main contract for the proposed residential development at Kwu Tung, Fanling, with a contract value of HKD 1.27 billion. Kicked off with a Bai Sun ceremony.
The project will implement advanced safety measures through the use of the Smart Site Safety System. This includes cutting-edge technologies such as Gammon’s in-house AI Gambot, Smart Lock, and G-eye etc., which are designed to enhance the efficiency and safety of our operations. These systems will be particularly beneficial for activities involving lifting, working at height, and confined spaces, ensuring a safer work environment for all.
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are at the core of our construction practices. For this project, we will utilize grid power and incorporate solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities to facilitate carbon saving. Additionally, we will focus on reusing scrap metal from Excavation and Lateral Support (ELS) and steel platforms. These efforts are aimed at achieving a targeted total carbon saving of 2,042 tCO2e, which is comparable to the emissions from 1201 round-trip flights between Hong Kong and New York for one person.
The project is expected to span from the second quarter of 2024 to the third quarter of 2026. Upon completion, the development will provide a total of 765 residential units.
