Geologist

You will be responsible for providing geotechnical information and solutions to our civil project and carrying out the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Borehole logging of all relevant investigation stations to the standards specified;
- Checking and verifying the accuracy of all geological records;
- Providing geological or engineering geological input to the design of ground supports and carrying out the geological or engineering geological data collection duties during construction;
- Mapping of the ground geology from surface and probe holes;
- Overseeing the geological input to the design of tunnel supports;
- Training and supervising other personnel to undertake geological and/or engineering geological duties;
- Performing detailed technical analysis of geological characteristics of the excavated material;
- Monitoring behaviour of rock and soil slopes by means of geotechnical instrumentation;
- Preparing detailed rock slope and boulder surveys, mapping and reports;
- Interpreting the geotechnical data on groundwater and ground movement.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Geotechnical Engineering / Geology / Earth Sciences or equivalent by Member of the Institution Materials, Mineral and Mining (MIMMM);
- At least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in geological mapping and/or borehole logging of exposed rock face and rock stabilisation;
- At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in ground investigation borehole logging
- Familiar in the use of Q-system and geotechnical software DIPS;
- Proficient in English and Chinese.
