CSR Forum

Within the wider community, Gammon has developed a number of partnerships with Hong Kong NGOs over the past few years in support of our community initiatives. For the first time in 2010, Gammon organised a CSR Forum that allowed company managers and NGO representatives to understand one another’s expectations and aspirations from the partnerships already established. This experience was highly productive and pointed out how we at Gammon can work together with our partners to exchange skills and provide programmes that benefit the community more effectively.

Some highlights of our CSR efforts in the community:

  • We participated in the Central Rat Race, a charity race to raise funds for Mindset, and were the top fund raiser among all participating corporations for 6 consecutive years.
  • We joined the International Coastal Cleanup event held by the Hong Kong International Coastal Cleanup Challenge (HKICC) and won the Bronze Award for Largest Corporate Team and the Silver Medal for Grand Prize for Most Trash in 2011.
  • We are one of the corporate members of the 2-year “Corporate Sustainability For School” programme organised by the Business Environment Council. Under the programme, Gammon arranges educational site visits and talks for secondary school students.
  • We supported various donation drives organised by the Community Chest, for example the Green Day; the Skip Lunch Day; the Community Chest Challenge Marathon.
  • In the past 16 years, we have supported the Sedan Chair Race, an annual tradition that raises money for local charities.
  • We were recognised at the Corporate Partnership Recognition Ceremony by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
  • We joined hands with Hong Chi Association to organise a Walkathon to Guangzhou activity for two consecutive years. More than HK$220,000 was raised in 2011 to provide services to people with intellectual disabilities.
  • We are awarded “5 years plus Caring Company Logo” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in 2012.
